Malaysia compromises of landmass of almost 330 thousand square kilometer. Located in South East Asia it consists of two large landmasses separated by the South China Sea. The capital of the country is Kuala Lumpur, however the federal government is actually located in the city of Putrajaya. Malaysia uses Malaysian Standard Time (MST) which is eight hours in advance of Greenwich mean time. MST is also referred to as Waktu Piawa Malaysia (WPM) or Malaysia Time (MYT). Originally Kuala Lumpur used British Malaysian Standard Time which was seven and half hours in advance of GMT. But in they changed to 1981 MST to match with East Malaysia.
